About this course
This eLearning course has 5 sections:

- What are micro-organisms
- Chain of Infection
- Standard Precautions
- Relevant Legislation and workplace policies/guidelines for Infection Prevention and Control
On completion of the course you will:
- Understand how infections can get into the body
- Understand the precautions you need to take to both prevent and control infection
- Know how to deal with soiled linen/clothing and clinical waste in a safe way
- Know how to wash your hands thoroughly, and when to use alcohol gels and sprays
- Understand different methods of decontamination
- Recognise the different legislation and agreed ways of working that you must follow in order to prevent and control infection
