About this course
This eLearning course has 3 sections:
- The principles of Privacy and Dignity
- Ways to uphold Privacy and Dignity
- Supporting an individual's right to make choices
On completion you will:
- Understand what is meant by Privacy and Dignity
- Be able to identify situations where an individual’s privacy and dignity could be compromised
- Explore ways in which to maintain privacy and dignity in the work setting
- Understand why it is important not to disclose anything about the individual that they may wish to be kept private, unless it is appropriate to do so
- Identify ways of helping individuals to make informed choices
- Understand how risk assessment processes can be used to support the right of individuals to make their own decisions, and why your personal views must not influence an
- Individual’s own choices or decisions
- Understand how to support an individuals active participation in planning their care and support programme
