About this course

This course has been designed to provide people with an awareness and basic understanding of Assistive Technology (AT) which are systems or products that are available to assist and enable people with disabilities, limited mobility, or other difficulties to carry out tasks that would otherwise be challenging or impossible. It is about supporting people to stay safe and independent. It is about supporting people to stay safe and independent. 

The course covers the range of AT available, its purpose and effectiveness, and how AT can positively impact the well-being and quality of life of individuals and their carers. It explains how to access specialist information, assessment and support in relation to AT
